Whilst not an electrical diagnostic platform – we still believe that this device comes firmly under “diagnostic tooling”. It has proved invaluable since we bought it in the quick diagnosis of various running faults.
Smoke-Pro produces a thick, low pressure smoke which is used to test for system leaks in the engine intake / exhaust system and various connected components, many of which should be vacuum-sealed in order for the engine to run correctly. Even a split hose (see picture) can cause a very high or very low idle speed, leading to excessive fuel consumption or stalling when coming to a stop. A tool that has proved itself priceless!
